The ASPEX JEMM - Control Fleet Costs and Interruptions of Operations
Military aircrafts
operate at extremely demanding thresholds, placing severe stress
on engine and gearbox components. Predictive maintenance is crucial
to controlling fleet costs and interruptions of operations.
Working with the U.S. Air Force, ASPEX developed JEMM for the dedicated
automated analysis of metallic contaminants in lubrication systems
of F110 jet engines, under the objectives of the Joint Oli Analysis
Program (JOAP). ASPEX JEMM (Jet Engine Maintenance Monitor) is designed
to detect and analyze signs of bearing wear after each flight. The
resulting information is used for go/no-go risk assessments and
to develop trend data for use by manufacturers and airbase operations.
JEMM can easily be adapted to other engines by simply changing the
risk algorithm. This algorithm can either be supplied by the engine
manufacturer or be developed with assistance from ASPEX scientists.
Ready to operate in minutes
ASPEX JEMM is a self-contained field deployable (FD) unit that is
resistant to vibration, dust, and extreme temperatures, and can
be placed into operation by a single operator within a matter of
minutes. Pre-configured analyses and tight integration with databases
enable expeditious 'one-click' operation.
In addition
to jet engines, ASPEX JEMM is ideally suited for predictive maintenance
applications in helicopter and related aerospace manufacturing and
service applications. It employs ASPEX's CFA software, the
industry's most advanced automation software for the detection
and identification of wear debris particulate.
