FDSEM - The Portable Field Deployable SEM
The world's first truly portable scanning electron microscope
Housed in a heavy-gauge steel cabinet with integrated vibration
isolation, it can be rolled or forklifted into service in under
ten minutes by a single operator. Designed originally to meet the
extreme demands of go/no-go testing in flight combat conditions
for the U.S. Air Force, the unique system can be deployed in equally
demanding conditions such as mines, heavy manufacturing, engine
and heavy equipment maintenance, and related applications, including
high-dust and high-vibration environments.
Engineered for fast deployment in tough environments
The
ASPEX FD is fully contained and requires no external air, cooling
water, liquid nitrogen, or filtering systems. It is ideally suited
for the analysis of metallic contaminants in lubrication fluids as
a method for predicting mechanism failure in high-stress applications
such as military jet engines.
The FD incorporates all the features
and functions of the PSEM with added Perception software functionality.
Additional Features
Supplemental to standard ASPEX PSEM specifications, the Field Deployable model also includes:
- two integral high-resolution LCD monitors for simultaneous information
- full-function keyboard that can be retracted and locked
- peltier-cooled x-ray detector that does not require liquid nitrogen
- large access foors and roll-out optics permit easy servicing
- all access doors gasketed and key lockable
